Walking in, the signs of hipster pit-falls are everywhere; austere walls, the one ironic vibrant decoration and people typing away who long finished their lattes. Though truly inside Libertine Bakehouse though, by which I mean inside the pastry case lay some of the best baked delicacies in all of Montreal. Running the extensive gauntlet of puff, choux and éclair they utilize unfamiliar ingredients and techniques to create innovative pastries such as the miso éclair and my personal favourite the chocolate filled rolled brioche. This is another one of the gems contributing to the jewelled crown of St.Henri/Little Burgundy as the most exciting neighbourhood to eat in Montreal.
