Saif is a U2 Cultural Studies student and a Psychology minor, with a global background and an unhealthy relationship with fashion. His other interests include music, film, television, writing about all of this, and being foolish on social media. You can catch him wearing a variety of sweatpants (“But I thought he said he was into fashion?”) and discussing the merits of the Ferrier Computer Lab while online shopping in the Ferrier Computer Lab. He does love Montreal — despite the infamous winters and his numerous rants — and aspires to promote the exploration and discussion of its incredible culture through Leacock’s.
Neha is a U0 student hoping to major in History and Classical Studies. She loves everything and anything to do with the arts, having had a rough relationship with math and science in her early years. Neha is originally from Toronto and has been really excited to discover that indeed, other places do exist, since having moved to Montreal. She is perpetually busy, but wouldn’t have it any other way.
Anna St. Clair
Anna is a U3 English Literature and Political Science student. She has previously written for the McGill Tribune and Quip Magazine and has loved arts and culture journalism ever since joining her high school paper. As a native New Yorker she has learned all the tricks for seeing Broadway shows on the cheap but unfortunately she cannot get you tickets to Hamilton. She is extremely excited to be a part of the new Leacock’s.
Deanna is U2 and studies English Literature as well as minors in Communications, Political Science and History (yes, she knows it sounds like a lot but she promises it all works out). Originally from Toronto (and if you’re from Toronto, the GTA), she has come to adore everything about the unique art and culture of Montreal and loves the opportunity to share it through Leacock’s magazine! She has been a writer for various publications on campus, as well as participated in/worked on fashion projects here in Montreal as well as Toronto. She is strong believer that black is always the new black.
Isabel is a U1 Russian and Political Science student. She is a US/UK citizen who grew up in New York who made it to Montreal via many adventures in Eastern Europe. Some things she likes are 1) Exploring new places, 2) FREE SHOWS, 3) The cold. Some things she doesn’t like are 1) cleaning, 2) Tokyo Thursdays, 3) The patriarchy. Isabel is very excited for a new arts & culture journalism outlet at McGill to connect the student body over some cool and interesting shared experiences & help expose people to new ones!
Colin is a U0 food history student who spends more time in restaurants then he does in class. Originally from Preston, Ontario, he got his first restaurant job at butterfly conservatory. Since then he has cooked in restaurants across Canada and America. He’s beyond excited to rant/rave in Leacock’s about all of the amazing food in Montreal!
Geneva is a U1 Cultural Studies student from New Jersey who uses too much punctuation in professional emails. Her true loves include dream pop, typography, and bison. Lucky to have worked a wide range of jobs from au pairing in Paris to interning in the CNBC Wardrobe Department, she now spends her free time singing and songwriting in a band called Bambi Lou and avoiding Blackader–she also loves run-on sentences.
